12/28/2023 0 Comments Playstation 2 shadow of memoriesIf there is one knock that can be levied against Shadow of Destiny, it would be that it really is just a port of the PS2 game. The adventure is decently long and lasts six to eight hours, depending on the path taken, but with eight different endings, including bonus endings, players will be motivated to try things differently the minute they beat the game. Just about every puzzle, which is cleverly laid out, and every approach to said puzzle carry some sort of consequence that alters your approach to the game. The title's most significant trait is the branching story line. The free-roaming nature is also a big plus since most adventure games tended to have their adventures limited to small, confined areas. Time traveling, for example, is a nice little twist since you have to constantly think about how your actions will affect future versions of the characters you'll meet in the game. There are a few traits that make Shadow of Destiny a bit different than other adventure games. Your quest is to figure out why you died and try to change fate to prevent that from ever happening. After some thought, you accept the offer and come back to life moments before you die. After you breathe your last breath, you are sent to a peculiar room with the voice of a Homunculus offering to help you cheat death. This one starts off with your character, Eike, dying immediately. Most games start off with your main character being alive. While fans of the original will find little to nothing new here, gamers who want to try something different will find lots to keep them interested for some time. With the Sony PSP experiencing a renaissance of sorts, Konami felt that the time was right to give its game another chance on a system that's currently on the upswing. There are more of them interested in trying something different, and adventure games have received a bit more exposure lately. The game fell into a bit of obscurity after that, relegated to being a small cult favorite. While some gamers were delightfully surprised at what the title delivered, others were disappointed since it was different from what they expected, and the community waited for more action-oriented fare from the studio. Coming hot on the heels of Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, players expected this new entry to be full of action with a deep story and possibly a few scares along the way. The endings are presented in an alphabetical format,A-E, with B having two variations, and then two EX endings, in all endings, is a surprise twist but im not giving any spoilers so you will haqve to learn that on your own, this game has a very strong and interesting story and well worth your time, and to some of you there may not be enough action, but if you want a different game with an awesome and unusual story this is one you may want to check out.In early 2001, Konami released a fairly ambitious adventure game, Shadow of Destiny, on Sony's newest console at the time, the PlayStation 2. The last two must be unlocked by acheiving the first six. Shadow of Destiny consist of eight endings, with six available at first. Actions taken in one time period affects future ones, for example,if Eike removes a seal from the squires manor in 1580, the seal will not appear in the present era.Īdditionally, the game keeps two digital clocks: one depictingthe time in the present day era, the second for which ever time Eike travels to, and however long you spend in the other era time passes in the present era, the cut scenes and dialog take up varying amounts of in game time, when the clock arrives at the time of Eikes death, the chapter restarts, however, if Eike is not in his time period at the time of his death, the game ends, pretty crazy game huh and im sure you all wonder where I find these games huh lol. And Eike cannot attack nor does he have a life bar like your traditional Rpgs, the digipad, a time-traveling item given to Eike by Homunculus, requires energy units which the player can find scattered around town, the gameplay primarily consist of time traveling through the different era,s, finding items ,and interacting through dialogue with NPCs. In the prologue and each chapter, Eike dies, is resurrrected by the NPC Homunculus, and travels back in time before his death with the intent of changing events to prevent it. the game takes place in three parts: a proloue, eight chapters, and a epilogue. The object of Shadow of Destiny is to guide you Eike Kusch through the fictional german town of Lebensbaum, as he travels through time so he can prevent his murder and unmask his murder. Called shadow of memories in Japan,Shadow of Destiny is an adventure game, developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo for the ps2.
